History and Legacy

In 1981, a student, frustrated by limited engineering college seats, met Professor Dr. Vishwanath D. Karad, who inspired a mission to address the scarcity of professional education opportunities in the face of a flawed education system.

Professor Karad's journey led to a historic meeting with the Minister of Technical Education in 1983, resulting in the creation of the first nine private engineering colleges in Maharashtra. MIT, Pune, emerged as the city's first engineering college in 125 years, symbolizing quality
